Exercising Through Your Sickness

You’ve probably heard that when you’re sick you shouldn’t work out. But how sick is too sick to miss going to your dance class?
According to Edward R. Laskowski, MD, at mayoclinic.com, if your symptoms are above the neck (runny nose or sore throat), you’re okay to go to dance class.
Nevertheless, it is important not to overwork yourself or exercise too strenuously even with these mild symptoms.

Always listen to your body and stop if you increasingly feel fatigued and remember to drink plenty of fluids.
However, if your symptoms are below the neck (coughing or stomach ache), or if you have a fever or muscle aches, it’s best to give your body a day off. Plus, you do not want to spread your germs to your fellow classmates.
